CTAW SCHOLARSHIP

The Community Theatre at Woodbury Scholarship was established in 2018
for the purpose of supporting education and achievement
in both performance and technical theatre arts.

Award Stipulations:

That this award be presented to a Woodbury resident who is a graduating high school senior; or if no graduating senior is qualified in a given year, then the scholarship will be awarded to a college student entering their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of undergraduate studies which shall include formal study and/or substantial involvement in theatre performance or theatre technical arts.

Awards: Scholarships for graduating high school students are awarded at Nonnewaug High School’s “Scholarship Night” by a representative of Woodbury Scholarship Fund Dollars for Scholars or other designee. Students recipients entering their 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of college are notified by email.

Student Criteria:

1. A Woodbury resident who is attending or planning to attend a two-year or four-year college EITHER majoring in a theatre arts program OR has made exceptional contributions to their secondary school’s theatre program will be selected for this award.

2. Additional weight is given to those students who have also been involved in community theatre during their student years.

3. Scholastic performance as well as need will be factored into the selection process.

The Community Theatre at Woodbury Scholarship is administered through the Woodbury Scholarship Fund Dollars for Scholars.
