FAQs

Since you asked…

How do I join CTAW?
Easy peasy!  Just sign up for our mailing list (see “Stay Informed” at the bottom of the right-hand column of this page and many other pages throughout our website) and you’ll be kept in the loop about workshops, casting calls, upcoming productions and events and all things CTAW.  Then, if you see something that strikes your fancy, show up and be a part of it!

I’ve never done anything theatrical before but I’ve always wanted to.  Can I still be a part of CTAW?
You bet’cha!  CTAW’s mission is to foster a culture of sharing, growth and community service through theatrical arts – which is more than just acting. Many of our members bring a wealth of experience and they’d like nothing better than to teach you what they know.  We need folks with all kinds of talents, so if you have mad skills of any kind you’d like to share, we’ll find a place for you in CTAW!

I see that you have a children’s component.  Do you work with teenagers as well?
Absolutely!  Tweens and teens bring a level of energy and enthusiasm unmatched by any other age group. We welcome their participation in every aspect of theater: acting, set creation, lighting, sound, costumes, props, makeup – you name it!  Being a part of CTAW gives these young folks an opportunity to be involved and make meaningful contributions to something that not only helps them on their road to self-discovery, but it’s also a way for them to give back to their community.  On so many levels, theatre is a wonderful way for these kids to channel their creativity and energy – and it’s far more interesting than hanging out at the mall!

I have lots of theatrical experience.  What kind of challenges can CTAW offer me?
Community theatre is, in and of itself, a challenge!  Collectively, CTAW’s members offer a wealth of knowledge and experience from which you can draw  – and, yes, you CAN teach an old dog new tricks!  Obviously, experienced theatre folks bring a lot to the table and there are many aspects of theatre, besides being on “the boards,” into which you could funnel your wisdom – but none is more satisfying than teaching, mentoring and sharing your experiences with others to help them flourish and thrive – and THAT is an important part of what makes CTAW successful!

I have some ideas about the kind of productions I’d like to see CTAW do in the future.  Are you open to suggestions?
Absolutely!  While we can’t guarantee we’ll run with every suggestion that comes our way, we’re open to hearing your ideas.  Feel free to contact us at ctaw.information@gmail.com to get the conversation started.

I have special needs such as handicap parking / wheelchair access / service animal companion.  Are you able to accommodate me?
Yes!  On show nights there will be a clearly marked drop-off zone and handicap permit parking available directly in front of the Historic Town Hall on Mountain Road.  Wheelchair access is through the side door, located on Mountain Road.  Restrooms are
wheelchair accessible.  If you are accompanied by a service animal, beware: we are huge animal-lovers and may not be able to keep ourselves from adoring your furry friend!  So that we may best accommodate you, if you will need special assistance please let us know at the time you reserve your tickets.

In the event of inclement weather, will the show be cancelled?

It depends! Though, the “show must go on” mentality is admirable, safety is most important. If we do need to cancel, we will make an announcement by 2 pm for evening shows and 10 am for matinees. Check the front page of this website, as well as our Facebook page for information.
